Leicester City player Harvey Barnes scored a late goal to lead his team to a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday, to advance to second place in the Premier League.

Leicester almost opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a penalty kick after James Tomkins blocked Luke Thomas in the area, but Kelechi Iheanacho missed the opportunity.

Palace advanced an hour earlier after Andros Townsend played a cross pass, and Wilfried Zaha put it successufly into the net from a narrow angle to beat goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Barnes scored his second goal in two matches 7 minutes from the end with a low shot from the edge of the area.

Leicester advanced to second place as same points as Everton, who will not play later today after their home match against Manchester City was postponed due to new cases of Covid-19 in Man City.
