Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne said that his team did a performance worthy of a big match, as part of its preparations for the 8th title in the English League Cup, when it faces its traditional rivals Manchester United, on Wednesday, in the semi-final round of the competition.
City won an important victory over Chelsea 1/3, yesterday, Sunday, in the Premier League, despite the absence of five players due to infection with the Coronavirus.
De Bruyne explained that the fact of winning against Chelsea restored confidence to the players and reminded them that they are competing for titles.
The Belgian star added, “I think in the years we were champions, we used to win such matches.”
He continued: “Last year and also this season we played many good games but we did not win, so I think we can win the big games.”
“We are fighting an uphill battle, but we are getting closer and this is the only thing we can do now,” he said.
