Jose Mourinho, coach of Tottenham Hotspur, looked frustrated after his team’s loss to Liverpool, Wednesday evening.
Liverpool beated Tottenham Hotspur, with a dramatic scenario, 2-1, in the Anfield, in the clash of the 13th round of the Premier League.
Mourinho said in statements published by the BBC, “We were very close to victory, not a draw, but we missed opportunities.”
“We put the match under control, a draw was a bad result for us, so you can imagine the feeling of defeat,” he added.
“We appeared well, of course we made some mistakes. There are things that need to be developed, but these are completely unfair results,” he said.
“My team told me that I was right when I said at the beginning of the season that we would go to every match to win, we played against the defending champions and at their stadium, and we had the best chances to win,” he stressed.
He noted, “The team was amazing, today Liverpool did not look like a champion team, a champion for Europe and the world. This difference did not appear on the field. We are together not for long, but of course the result remains the most important.”
He concluded, “I told Klopp that the better team lost, and he disagreed with me on that, but this is his opinion.”
