Newcastle United said today, Wednesday, that its players have returned to full group training after the closure of the team’s training headquarters, after many of its players and staff were infected with Covid-19.
Sky Sports reported that the Newcastle home game against West Bromwich Albion will be held as scheduled, next Saturday.
The increase in the number of infected cases forced the team to request a postponement of its match last Friday, at Aston Villa, which was approved by the Premier League.
This was the first match in the Premier League to be postponed due to Covid-19, since the resumption of last season in June.
Newcastle is 13th in the league with 14 points from 10 matches.
