As time passes and conditions change in Arsenal in terms of results, voices are being raised with the return of German playmaker Mesut Ozil to the squad.
In the recent period, Ozil insisted on staying at Arsenal in the hope that the club management and the coaching staff would bow to pressure and return him to the team.
Sogut revealed the truth about the rumors about the departure of the former Real Madrid star, from the Gunners, in January.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s coach, decided to exclude Ozil from the domestic and European team lists before the start of the season, so that the player would only perform training, without participating in matches.
“One day in football is a very long time, we don’t know what could happen,” Sogut said in remarks carried by the British newspaper Mirror.
He added: “Of course there are many clubs interested in joining Ozil, but he is committed to his word with Arsenal and wants to respect his contract and play with his club.”
He concluded: “Ozil is a loyal player, and it is difficult to find someone with this loyalty at the present time.”
