Hakim Ziyech was injured on Saturday night in the Chelsea-Leeds United game. After half hour, the Atlas Lion had to be replaced following a hamstring injury.
Scoring bad luck for the Morocco international, who suffered an injury after initiating the action that saw Giroud equalize against Leeds. For Ziyech, this is the second injury since arriving in London.
Ziyech played an important role in Chelsea’s equalizer shortly before his exit. The Moroccan winger drove Ezgjan Alioski mad and found Reece James, whose cross was deflected by Olivier Giroud. After the goal, Ziyech appeared to be suffering from his hamstrings. He was briefly treated in the field, but was ultimately unable to continue. The Moroccan stepped out under supporters’ applauses at Stamford Bridge. He was replaced by Christian Pulisic.
It’s a big setback for Hakim Ziyech who also had to miss the start of this season with a knee injury on August 29 in the exhibition match against Brighton & Hove Albion. Ziyech had missed the first six official games of the season.
