According to an English press report, today, Wednesday, Scottish David Moyes, the coach of West Ham, is seeking to include a new striker, in the next winter Mercato.
West Ham striker Sebastian Haller is presenting modest standards this season, prompting Moyes to request the inclusion of another player in the front line.
According to the English “Mirror” newspaper, West Ham wants to sign a long-term contract with Frenchman Olivier Giroud, the Chelsea striker, starting from next January.
But this goes against the wish of Frank Lampard, the coach of the Blues, who confirmed his desire to keep Giroud, until the end of the current season.
Giroud has participated in 14 matches for Chelsea this season, and has scored 8 goals.
Giroud wishes to continue participating with his team, throughout the season, in order to reserve a seat in France’s list for the European Nations Championship, scheduled for next year.
